About work

2011 is a year of angst and loss, yet also a period of growth and self discovery.

Work was not as innocent as I have forced myself to foolishly believe in.

Then, I chose to bury my negative emotions is a corner and flare up whenever someone starts to unveil it.

Then, I realized the best healing method is to forgive and forget.

看不见触不着，不代表不会疼不会痛.

若要重新开始，必须"从心"开始.

But overall, I have to do justice to my colleagues, who have been generally nice and understanding.

I have been given opportunities to participate in events to assist in sound and props.

Next week, I will get to put up my designed stage backdrop for project showcase.

Glad to say, I've still helping patients about care in the community after discharge.

I'm also in charge of designing posters for my council projects and many more.

Hopefully, in 2012, I can improve in people management and gain more skills/knowledge/exposure.

Now my work is so relax I feel as if 我又变笨了. =.=;;

If I get hired by a new company, I can move on a slightly faster pace and get to think more.

I'll continue to hunt for suitable positions and I'll share if I have any good news.

About love and friendship

在爱情的领域里，我依然交了张白卷.

Then more friends close to my age are getting married.

I'm not anxiously wanting to get into a relationship though .. mom is starting to say "可以找个伴"

But I'll patiently wait and silently anticipate, 反正, 有期待人生才会充实 ..Err..我说的.

Anyway, the only person who can make my heart flutter or melt into lemon drops only appear on TV.

Friends I've been trying my best to maintain them.

Best of 2011, I met up with my primary school friends after a decade.

Seems like fate is also responsible in this play.

About travels

Traveled to more places in 2011 and spent a bomb but the experience is priceless.

First time in Europe - London, Paris, Liverpool (Muppet, Onion and 阔少).

What I remember: walking in the heavy rain and more long roads, waiting for train in the wee hours of the morning, pretending nothing is going on when people are arguing behind us, fighting the cold wind while taking lotsa photo at Albert Dock, bought my first Agnes B handbag, 吃肉和吃饭的感动, and of course, the countless number of beautiful architecture and museums we were surrounded in. Best of all, the choir singing in the golden light with such gentle and angelic voices when I stepped into the hall of St Paul Cathedral. I was m.e.s.m.e.r.i.s.e.d.

First time in North Vietnam - Hanoi, Lao Cai, Sapa (laopo and xian)

Love Vietnam, and I have a 情意结 with her after 6 months of attachment.

What I remember: Crossing the motorbike mazes and reliving my memories in hcmc while waiting for my connecting flight, falling terribly sick and still miraculously managed to walk the mountain roads, very crunchy garlic fries, 早上七点喝 Fanta, and nua-ing alot in the day with monopoly deal or daidee.

First time in Australia - Melbourne and greater melbourne (Xiaolee and Jenyi)

What I remember: Watching the penguins come home at Philip Island and conversed in their "penguin" conversation, traveling along great ocean road and 我一直很想吐 along the long winding road but the gorgeous view took my breath (and "puke") away, stopping along the road to see koala bears, dinner in the car while watching sunset and chilling ginger beer in the cold air, indulging in all sorts of good food such as Greek cuisine, playing DJs on the car with "xiaolee 的呼声", travelling alone and enjoying some personal time along the harbour & railway, meeting new friends and ate the most number of strawberries in my life!!

Hopefully in 2012, I can fly to more places, be exposed to more culture and breathe in a different land. Possibly, I want to go Thailand/Cambodia/laos, China/Taiwan/HongKong/Shanghai and Japan/USA. =D

About others

I realize I'm someone who really enjoy art and doing handicraft, have been watching more movies too.

Wanted to learn cycling and swimming but none of the above happened.

I didnt even get to sit on a bicycle and jump into a pool.

so until now 我好命的泳衣 still have only gone for spa in Korea and no where else. =.=;;

2012, hopefully I can take up some courses and have a more eventful time.

I should also exercise more and bring my weight down to the jc days.

The amount of fast food eaten during in uni days were too damaging and I need more determination.

I find health even more important after working in a hospital and may all my loved ones stay fit and healthy.

时间离开了2011，来到了2012，不管是不是世界末日, enjoy it and live it to the fullest!

But I don't feel happy or excited or anything about it.

Maybe because I've been "probate" for too long.

The other day I brought Joshua to buy newspaper.

Its like an exciting excursion for a 5 year old boy but something that doesn't matter to us anymore.

Over time, what has once been significant loses its shimmer.

As we grow older, the once valuable things just gets taken over or substituted without us noticing it.

On the way, he was telling me excitedly about his new toy - a gun.

He was making all the sound effects and laughing at his own animation.

Then, I asked him, "Why do you like playing guns?"

His reply was, "Err..喜欢咯..*frowns and think hard* I just like guns."

...

That left me pondering. It was so natural for me to ask why.

It seems so logical to pin a reason to everything we do, anything we like or dislike.

But in actual fact, there may not be.

You just feel like doing something or its plain attraction.

You can't craft out a thousand reasons yet there is nothing that can truly explains.

Sometimes, we just need to follow our hearts.

Honestly, I don't play the sims but yes, I feel like I'm one of the multiple characters.

Its my first time joining fan clubs and I'm amazed by the power of the "United Nations".

I enjoy talking to them or even smiling to myself by just reading the chatbox/forums.

No one has seen me. I have never seen them.

Its been a few days after the war. I'm no longer bleeding but the scar is there. The pain is gone and the wound has healed but I may never recover. I tried to bring myself to detest them but I failed terribly, though thankfully. By nature, I am very forgetful with negative emotions no matter how much I remind myself of the disgusting deeds. I tried to hypnotize myself but ended up getting a heavy heart, terrible headache and nothing else in return. But I am not willing to give in. Not not yet. I can never bring myself to trust or respect them again. I will remind myself to keep a safety distance. My boss tried to give me sweets but how do I know it is not the poison apple given to snow white and I may need to wait a thousand years for my knight in a shining armor.

After the rain, there is no rainbow.

Got slashed quite badly todae.

Was so upset my eyes was clouded with mist but anger dried it all.

Cant believe it took me more than a year to recognise a hypocrite.

But I thank her for letting me know that I've been way. too. nice.

Some people asked why I'm so easily bullied but I've always dismissed it.

I gave my extra services bcos I have the time, the strength, the expertise, knowledge and skill set.

Today's pain and today's humiliation, I will bear in my mind and let it burn to leave a scar on my heart.

When I grow up, I want to be..

We had dreams, or rather we still have dreams but our goals have become more realistic.

And the sad fact is, we have all grown up, from the evidence that friends of my age has become engaged/married/parents.

昔日的梦，你是否还记得？

披上黄城的盔甲，我再次和舞台结缘，当上了挂名的 assistant stage manager (asm)。实际工作范围就是抱山抱海的打杂：分票+打理道具+搬道具+打印座位表和贴纸 +摧场+为演员们打气。但我却累得心甘情愿，忙得不亦乐乎。以往参与黄城的喜悦和现今付出的快乐，在我的血液里水乳交融，化成一种新的激奋与一波接一波的感动。所有的努力和汗水，我在谢幕的掌声和欢呼声中听见了认同。而在掌声后的寂静里，曲终人散的空席上，我终于再次听见了我久违的心跳声。

如果未来的40年，我还必须工作，我不会甘心天天对着银幕发呆，和键盘谈心。我要数不尽的成就感。我要用脑力和体能去完成更多的 events。我要在还能活蹦乱跳的岁月里，写下轰轰烈烈的一页。这就是我要的。即时废寝忘食，我也不会忘记当时的满足和幸福。至少，在40年后，在退休以后，我能够抬头挺胸地说，我完成了我的梦。

再次踏上这片国土的时候，心情是很复杂的，尤其当转机延误我又与胡志明市面对面时。既熟悉又陌生，即思念又畏惧。两年了，印入眼帘的景物依旧，但人事已非。曾经的年少（err..二十岁）轻狂，九个人同住一屋眼下从完全不认识到变成酒肉朋友的回忆，庆幸没有暴风雨般的偷袭，只是像清风一样吹皱了我心中的湖水，掀起了淡淡的涟漪。

有趣的是，我能很快外地入乡随俗，脑袋瓜也会随而 change mode 找回２年没有运用的语言。半桶水不到，但很有用。我的脚也记得路要怎么走，完全不需要地图。我可是当年鼎鼎大名，在凌晨２点走过３个district, 被同伴笑称为　walking monster的怪物呀。lols

这趟旅行，我的心放松了很多，身体也轻了。短短的８天之旅，感觉上却长达一个月之久。很两个很了解我的朋友，一起打牌，喝酒，喝咖啡，聊天（包括别人的是非八卦和互鸟），窝在酒店里看电视，打桌球，逛书店，逛街，找好吃的，吃好吃的，乱拍一堆照，登山远足，在湖边漫步，看水上木偶戏，发呆，都相当惬意。当然，不会没有摩擦和争执，尤其是对上我这个可能会很固执兼moody的临时炸弹。但我们都学会相互包容与原谅。

最遗憾的是，我们都不是最佳状态，特别是我。大多数时间都是病倒的，所以下龙湾也没去成。就是太累了。出国前太忙了。白天打工，傍晚加班，晚上教补习。补补补补补，一直忙别人补，都忘了给自己进补。所以，这个６月，所用补习统统取消，都滚到一边去！到伦敦巴黎若生病就太可惜了，也太可怜了，而且也太昂贵了啦。

但值得骄傲一提的是，我很神咯！扛着一个累坏的身子，一把雨伞，两个大包包，我还能咬紧牙关沿着蜿蜒泥泞，走在雨多湿滑的萨帕山路上！（虽然说，我也没有停下或退出的可能性，所以只能向前行　=P）还真的是一步天堂，一步地狱。每跨出一步，我就离云朵，离天空更近一些。每踏出一步，跌个狗（pj）吃屎的可能性也大一些，身体的疼痛也多很多些。我在天地间！但我还是完成了，虽然当天晚上我发高烧。sian diao..I think its partially bcos i had 35% rice wine also..they call it the HAPPY WATER. 可是把世界踩在脚底下是值得的，我会在facebook上载照片的，请拭目以待。^^

该好好休息了。晚安！　

A simple gesture..

今天回到家的时候，平常调皮捣蛋的 Joshua很兴奋的对我说：

"Noona Noona, today I go vivocity eat ice cream. Very nice. But I dont know what flavour..you want? you want?"

为了不扫兴，我敷衍地 " 嗯 " 了一声。

但他还是很快乐，蹦蹦跳跳地跟我到厨房，然后很大声地和我妈喊道：

"阿姨，阿姨，Noona 要吃 icecream!!"

虽然我还是什么也没说..

随即想到：
"有些事情对你来说可能微不足道，但对他来说，他已经给了你全世界.."

今天的心情真的坏透了，当难过兼郁闷划落脸颊的时候，我才意识到。

看着我平日看百遍仍能哈哈大笑的综艺节目，笑声也显得如此空洞。

偏偏什么事情也没有发生。

我不会把负面情绪过户给任何人。

给我一杯咖啡的时间调试吧，会好的，我这么安慰自己。

即时并没有什么说服力。

当你们看见我的时候，脸上还是会挂着往常那副大大的笑容的。

关于这一点，我很有自信。

一直都这么觉得，我很幸运。

老天爷爷真的很眷顾我。

原先我因为没有被日本药剂公司及服装连锁店录取而觉得惋惜。

但如今，只能说是万幸。

今日不知明日事。

没有人能准确地预知明天的事或做足完善的防御工作，尤其是自然灾害。

看见堆砌起来的血汗，一霎那被夷为平地，我们都感慨万千，不胜唏嘘。

考验的不是房子有多牢固，而是在危机中人们最真实的那一面。

看见当地的人相互扶持，继续如实地上班生活，就觉得很感动。

不管有多大的悲伤，日子依然要过，就算是从零开始。

如果是我，不知会不会有这么大的勇气。

只差一片星空

昨天，我好像又被放鸽子了。

由于时间所有的配搭都不近理想，我只好"单飞"享受下班后的自由。

担心买不到好的位子，我一抵达 Tiong Bahru Plaza 就火力全开，以100m Olympics 的速度冲上4 楼买《大世界》的门票。

Oh my 天，也许这就是所谓的 great mind think alike, 门票已几乎售罄，连我这种孤家寡人都一票难求。

电影上映的前30分钟，门口已经挤满了老老少少，扶老携幼的准备入场，相当热闹。

而我也忍不住啧啧称奇，爱拼迟到的新加坡人原来更爱排队。哈哈。

当我舒舒服服的翘起二郎腿等待大世界开门时，左边传来了孙子向婆婆撒娇买nachos的声音。

随之，右手边的老夫妻也开始回忆起拍拖时的点滴回忆。挺好玩的。

电影开始之后，他们还继续交头接耳，津津乐道。

聊儿时照相的事，回忆爱吃的，爱玩的，讨论永春园是否还在营业。

第一次，我竟然不介意有人在我看电影时叽叽喳喳，碎碎念个不停。

因为这是岁月遗留下的情怀。

就像我在 facebook 说的：

“没有3D的特效，没有华丽的包装，没有很original的剧本，更没有红到发紫的国际明星...但我却感觉到了演员的热情，看见了阿公阿嫲脸上的期待，听见了导演想所的故事...”

或许，少了一些铜臭味，多了一些人情味。

故事由4个小故事串联在一起，从彩色走入了黑白，又让黑白变成了现实。

有傻气的儿子和开朗的母亲，有抱着纯纯爱意的小情侣，有苦苦等候十年的痴心汉，更有鸡鸭同讲的联姻。

最漂亮的是故事的收尾，还没看的人，去体验4份简单的快乐吧。

当这部电影结束的时候，我抬头看见了漆黑的天花板。

我想，若这部电影是在露天电影院播映，人人坐在小木凳上吃kacang puteh，一定会更完美。

是啊，只差一片星空..

我与我的周末

本想跟 xian 和 ham 一起度过拜六或礼拜，却因为配合不来的时间而临时取消了。

是有一些些遗憾和无奈。

开始工作后，我尽我所能约昔日好友相聚，促膝谈心，但有时候还是难免感觉到渐渐明显化的隔阂。

时间是残酷的。

虽然脸书上的朋友很多，手机里的同志也不少，但想坐下来分享心事的人却寥寥无几。

所以，我决定和自己一同逛街，享受着久违的阳光（难得没有下雨）和孤独。

Facial 过后，从 Plaza Singapura 一路走到 Outram Park，一共花了悠闲的 4 个小时。

就像当初一个人背包旅行，在陌生的国土上留下脚印一样有趣。

想走就走，累了就坐下来歇息，买一杯冷饮或冰淇淋然后在路边的长椅上看众生相，形形色色的人们。

看着翻着地图的旅客，共度天伦的家庭，哭闹的小孩，不分国籍晒甜蜜的情侣，就像是说不完的故事。

心底是温暖的。

就连树也热情地和到访的风招手，落下了金黄色，满满的感谢。

我觉得我们的国家真的好漂亮，好靓啊，哈哈!

高高矮矮的房屋，旧建筑，高楼大厦，百货商店等被编排成邻居，让无聊的钢泥森林多了一份乐趣。

"展露头脚" 的新年装饰，偶尔飘过的新年歌曲，店主们拉开嗓子的叫卖声，也为来临的佳期添了"新意"。

逃离了西来人往的大街，我专挑一些平日较少行走的巷子 "探险"，默默地拿不太灵光的脑袋记下一些有趣的店面。

唉呀，忘了带照相机还真是可惜。

我忍不住斥责自己一番。

遇到那些老人家努力经营的生意就会觉得很惋惜。

若有一天，我多了一个伴，一定会逼他吃力得踩三轮车载我。

除了提供 bicycle rental之外，我们或许可以考虑 trishaw rental/competition, 那我的美梦才能成真嘛。

还有，如果街上多一些小贩应该也会很好玩，千篇一律的百货商店名牌真的是看都看腻了。

不知道是否能创立一个能维持治安与卫生，防止道路拥挤又不似pasar malam 的方案呢?

下雨天或许会很糟糕，但成天焖在冷气房的我们需要沐浴在太阳公公的笑容里。

今早呢，我又难得迟起。

10am 耶!!! 对我这种需要 6am 就被挖起来的工作人士来讲，实在是太宽容了。呵呵!!

认真刷牙洗脸后，就和老爸老妈逛巴刹，吃早/午餐，讨论该买什么菜，怎么煮才好吃。

Final verdict: 毛瓜冬粉豆腐瘦肉汤泡饭!　

当然，还有我的特质水果沙拉! =PPP

好啦，就写到这里，得去 spring cleaning，和尘埃奋战去了。

哇哈哈!!!

新年快乐！这大概是我今天说最多的话吧~

面对着新的一年，我做了很多反思和自我检讨。

在和自己静下来聊天的时候，前方的路似乎起雾了。

不是看不清楚路，而是不知道接下来的路应该怎么走。

我不是很清楚我想要怎么样的生活，什么样的工作。

虽然目前的工作不exciting, 但我也很享受那份安逸。

上班仍然无所谓看小说却仍然能够从容不迫的完成工作的感觉，老实讲，呃，不差。

当人或任何生物被关在comfort zone太久了，就会害怕回到狗咬狗的世界。

况且，我开始渐渐学会如何惜福，贪婪慢慢被感恩的心说服了，感化了。

我猜，被当成狗来养的狼也会忘记如何打猎吧，而不当宠物就会饿死也挺悲哀。

我想，我那逐渐发霉的脑袋瓜需要时间的洗礼才会再次变得精明起来。哈哈

面对着后天要交的 development plan, 我只大概大概地乱写一通。

不要让老板看到两眼发直，口吐白沫，七窍流血就应该算是谢天谢地了。

然后，今年的希望和去年的期望并没有多大的差别。

基本上，我还是希望我和我周围的人能够平安，健康，幸福快乐。

可能，你会觉得这只比选美小姐们的 world peace 少一点荒唐，但还是一样扯。

甚至，你可能笑我怎么会有如此cliche的愿望。

不好笑，不好笑，一点都不好笑。

因为，我真的如此希望，所以笨我也无所谓。

尤其在医院上班以后，我更坚定平安健康的重要性。

而且，我没有贪心地要求老天爷对全世界都好，毕竟我们人类实在是太可恶。

将范围缩小+虔心祈祷=心想事成的数学方程的成功机率，还是值得试一试的。

Time for reflection

Been telling myself I should blog but I need the momentum to begin. I have been penning my thoughts in my organizer so I hardly feel the need to type here anymore. Read on facebook Yuhui's status: "rejoice thru reflection" and feel that maybe I should share what have been going in my life, or at least on my mind.

Well, let me first wish everyone a very merry xmas, may all ur wishes come true and may you find strength in sticking to whatever new year resolution you set for yourself. haha. I seriously need to exercise more in this fat festive season and stop depriving myself for my own sleep. LOL. I am addicted to dramas online and surprisingly, I start to 追偶像 again, after staying dormant for a couple of years.

Work is pretty mundane still and there is no ups and downs, which is actually a blessing in disguise. I know I complain and ramble about it being boring but I also enjoy the relax working environment. I cherish the bonds forged with my colleagues and bosses. I am starting to get closer and gain a deeper understanding of them. ^^ Most importantly, I had my first meeting with my project team on a new project and we communicate quite well. I'm grateful that none of them treat me as a green horn since its my first improvement project and I have the least experience. They listen to my opinions and I am not pressured to give suggestions to the seniors. I shall stop procrastinating and complete my minutes by tomorrow to show my appreciation. =P

I tend to embrace more stuff nowadays, good or bad, happy or sad. I cherish everything that happened and perhaps because my work life is not that hectic, I got time to slow down. I stop to look at the sky everyday and realise how beautiful it is over trees. I cherish all relationships and all my little cliches. 73 peeps, movie trios, sotong clan, tcmers, HEs, team orange, team unexpected, brps friends etc..thanks for being a part in my life. =DDD

Regarding romance, I still do anticipate cos life is more fun and interesting when you look forward to it. Even my parents wish me a good guy when giving me angbao on my bdae this year. (=.=)! Ermz..I dont think eligible guys are roaming freely in the streets and I can "find" him liddat. 可遇不可求，不强求，也不过份期待. 在感情的世界里，我会依然被动. Should one day I meet someone who understands me, can communicate with me and is willing to share his deepest thoughts with me, I will be most pleased to show off. haha. =P

To all my friends, may Santa put more happiness, good health and blessings in your stocking this year.

看着脸书中的种种留言和status，发现我不是唯一感觉停滞不前的毕业生。

工作已有数月，但我渐渐在内心的渴望和实际的生活方面挣扎，努力地平衡。

那份渴求在胸口左侧烧成一团火，日愈膨胀，让人感到郁闷，喘不过气来。

那团火持续烧着，终于爆炸，然后形成一个黑洞。

黑洞就像一头饥饿的狂魔，咧开嘴吸走周遭的一切，连一颗离子都不剩的干净。

空虚。

或许，因为经过黑洞的时间都会变得缓慢，而我脑袋也能利用时间变慢的机会稍微滚动。

我尝试把记忆写在一张空白的纸上，然后揉成一团，转身射进垃圾桶里。

结果，我还是吞了口口水，弯腰伸手，依依不舍地从垃圾堆里取出那团皱巴巴的白纸。

我还在想，接下来的路应该怎么走。

但没有所谓的重新来过，而是如何继续下去...

Lazy sunday

For the first time in 10 weeks, I have no appointments on a Sunday except one tuition.

Super nua, super sian.

Wanted to start sorting my 2.5 huge boxes of i weekly but the pile was to crazy to begin.

Finished "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman and realized I need more good books, fiction and non-fiction.

Watched some random movies and dramas online but none touch my heart.

My expectations for movies are on the rise too.

Work is rather boring.

No. of bosses has increased from 1 to 5.

I still have nothing much on hand cos all my stuff are either completed and part of the organization's waiting game.

sighs.

Been thinking of taking more classes for something. Anything.

Should be taking Jap with xiaolee next year?

Basic photography class wif cdac has ended and i made many camera filters!

compact camera works wonders too..and i shall get a semi-pro camera soon.

Mebbe can start going for fitness classes. Zumba anyone?

I need more life. seriously.

dropped 3 tuitees. take 2 new tuitees. current balance: 3

feels like i'm working from morning to night.

cant wait for malaysia excursion with laopo, xian and feng!

Lesson learnt

Today, fully recovered, was on my way to work.

A father and a kid got on board at the stop after mine.

I offered my seat, the daddy said the kid like to sit on the raised platform. =.=

Then, the bus drove into telok blangah crescent.

Like how muppet always say, telok blangah crescent is a 老人区.

I offered my seat to an old man, he shook his head and smile politely.

2 stops later, another old man got up.

I was confused whether I should offer my seat. so weird.

in the end, i offered cos the old man standing next to me looks rather unstable.

He look at me and say nevermind.

o.O#!

i must have the "huh" expression on my face.

Thought to self:

if you ever see some kid/elderly standing near a healthy looking youths and not wearing heels (cos sometimes i think people who have been wearing heels for the entire day deserves the seat more badly..), its not that these young Singaporeans are inconsiderate brats but the opposite party deem himself/herself to be strong and fit enough to stand throughout the journey.

Therefore, dont judge a book by its cover, dont form false impressions, 不要先入为主, 不要随随便便看不爽就 S-T-O-M-P!

Monday blues

Well..being a workaholic/"school-aholic", I never reallly had any monday blues.

But today, I have the worst monday blues in my life ever.

Worst monday blues come not when u had the best weekend but the worst weekend and continue to be sick on Monday. TT.TT

Started having headache at settlers and after i rushed home, i puked out my lunch and dinner after reaching home. yucks.

den i started to have fever.

drank some milk and ate some magarine bread into my growling stomach and diarrhoea came almost immediately.

toss and turn as i try to sleep with my temperature climbing mount everest, muscle and joint ache came and joined in the party.

initially i tot i was ill for flaring at my shg kid cos i have never yell at it like wad i did last sat.

怒伤肝。肝属木。木生火。心属火。母伤及子。怒火攻心。

i promise i'll be nicer to him this sat (cross my fingers and hope he does his work *pray hard*)..

the bad thing is all my family members fell ill.

mommy got sick on thu, sis got sick on fri, dad and i 先后病倒 on sat and bro fell sick on sun.

crazy virus.

but at least they have all recovered.

the king of the virus is left in me.

i must 将军 by tomorrow or i can never finish my work.

in fact i tried to clear some stuff by going to work today.

managed to do simple stuff like checking, updating, creating simple spreadsheets etc.

tried to look at my grab bar stuff but rows and columns of numbers in no order are all shrieking and laughing at me with animosity.

shall do it tomorrow.

i think i'm disappointed that no one could tell from my pale face that i'm sick and just gave me work.

i taught nurses should know?

sighs. mebbe the fact that i can return to office means i am able to deal with any issues.

but i dont think i can finish my toilet measurements at the end of this week.

shitty job. literally and metaphorically.

but well..at least something went right.

i was praying for minced meat porridge and my bosses did make them today in the magic pot.

they usually cook during their long meetings on mondays.

mebbe that was why i went to home.

Work has begun and more than a month has passed. Life has become more routine and it feels like I'm back to being a primary school student. Nonetheless, I have grown to appreciate weekends and holidays to spend time with my family and friends. 所以我尽力让日子过得更充实。There is going to be a few outings this month and I am the unofficial planner - sotongs outing cum bdae celebration, tcm warriors 三国杀。杀很大 cum bdae celebration, movie trios 重出江湖记. This is gonna be sooooo fun and it also means more shopping for pressies~ whee! Gonna have a ktv + odbo session cum "do you know we can cook " with my laopo 大人next sunday too! Mebbe be meeting jane on a friday this month too, not forgetting my fellow red angels nua-ing sessions of alcohols & icecream & mahjong & tok cok, or just simple but heartwarming gatherings with my beloved 73s. I'm so pleased that more red angels have joined our dinners and our dear nf has 出山 too. There are so many cafes and restaurants I want to explore too.

Worklife/ 我在政府部门的日子:

Although work has passed for only a month plus and my projects have yet to officially start, I have came to realize certain things and learn what I call "people skill". 明哲保身 is a must to survive and 察言观色 will definitely bring myself a long way. I usually 在取舍中取得平衡, not steal credits, do what i think is right, and deal with "politics" with pure gullibility or feign ignorance. Its dangerous for 初生之犊 to 不畏虎 but I think my tertiary education has taught me otherwise. There is a large current above my head and at points where the directions are different, you see tornadoes. Someday, I know I'll be sucked in but i do not know if i would dare to swim against any currents. In addition, whatever I have gone through including those packing chickens days in KFC and carrying heavy boxes of uniforms have helped my work in one way or another. Amazing. Being in a public sector gives you a stable life and competition is quite different from the private sector (which I missed terribly too but 鱼与熊掌不可兼得). Nonetheless, being in the healthcare and able to serve people in need has always been what I have wanted to do so I'll continue to: LOVE serving LIVE serving. I cant say i have the passion cos i never understands what it means but i'll stay on and see if this job is what i enjoy.

On top of my proper work, I am too giving tuition and might take up more unless my work schedule does not permit. I love to teach and it gets better each time i try to teach the same thing. Sciences has been a love of my life and it always will be. Maybe its time for me to recap my Mathematics too, I missed solving those tricky questions and giving myself a pat on the back for being so genius. haha. this sort of integration is way more enjoyable than integrating workflows and process, well.. but life goes on.

Romance/ 关于爱情:

Many of my colleagues who are 1 year older than me are talking about marriage and having children. @.@ I have to face the fact that we 已不再年轻. Plus, I have always been more mature in thinking than my peers and my measured body age is 40. I have never really like or love anyone in a romantic manner for a long time. Someone told me that you don't marry the one you love most but you will marry the one at the time you can manage a relationship. I'll just let nature takes its course cos finding my fateful one is as good as 海底捞针 considering the number of people in this world. Anyway, I don't see single-hood as a problem as I like my current lifestyle with no commitments. I'll just keep fit and try to stay healthy. More workouts to come!

Travel/ 我想要走遍全世界!:

Looking at the the large volume of grad trip and exchange photos on blogs and facebook, I also have want to be there. I really want to see the world, immersed myself in different culture, learn many many languages and improve my perceptions and a better person. I shall bring daddy and mommy to hainan island and many places in china. This includes sponsoring some of my aunties who have slogged all their lives for work and family. I want to see some of my primary school teachers who have groomed me and bring them momentos from other places and share stories with them. I want to get a new camera and capture as many beautiful sceneries as I can so I can look at them and think about the happening past when I'm old and frail without teeth. I can tell my grandchildren how different the world was decades ago and how history has shaped our present lives. Planning to go Japan/Australia etc, any 73 peeps on? I have not forgotten the amazing craftwork that I saw in 电视冠军 years ago.

Embracing a new life..

My current fb status stands the highest number of comments that i have so far.

Yes, I am finally hired after much twists and turns, spamming my resumes, going through interviews and observations.

After listening to my uncles' advice that money is of least importance and personal development should be placed as my priority, i rejected the sales job that is too money oriented.

I didnt want to be a public servant due to the crazy things I heard about not scoring 2nd upper honours and above, which I do not own.

Nonetheless, I have just signed my contract and did my medical checkup today..so I'm with sgh as a hospital executive for the next 12 months. =)

Everything just went by in a breeze.

Out of total pray for chance, I re-applied for this position at sgh website on Sunday. On Monday, I received an email to go for an interview on Tuesday. On Tuesday, I received a call for another interview on Wednesday. On Thursday, I received a call to sign my contract today (Friday).

Wow..This is what I call efficiency.

Like what my daddy say, my grandma is guiding me along in heaven too.

For the first time, I need to wrote a gp-similar essay in 1.5hrs (with internet provided) + do group presentation on a hospital-met-problem + do Q&A for my interview.

For the first time, no one cared if I had good honours, I could show my knowledge and skills that NTU has taught me during the last 3 years.

Thankful for the opportunity that I am given. Really.

I will be handling projects in improving hospital procedures etc and even be doing number-crunching.. a love that I have let go for so long since I stepped into marketing.

In fact, now that I looked back..alot of things start to fall into place and fit nicely.

- 4/5 years ago.. I was talking to my qin-ai-de-cat, xueyi and she made me realized that medicine might not be the direction that I want to enter but hospital management.

- On the day of my NTU-NBS interview, I expressed my views in how I can remained in the health/science industry even as a business student and asked my interviewer if marketing and tourism were the correct majors that could helped me in hospital management.

- On the first Saturday that I met Jane in SHG at redhill, I was telling her about how much I wanted to improve the systems and procedures like waiting time in the health services.

- Last year during my project in GIP Vietnam, I did a warehousing project on streamlining processes and improving efficiency, not realizing that I have picked up skills like lean management that is useful even not in the logistics and warehousing area.

- ...

There's alot more than these things..and all seems to make perfect sense now.

I will work doubly hard from now on. Learning is for learning more.

Favourite interview question: "How do you think marketing is suitable in a hospital setting since you are not able to apply your 4Ps as in the retail industry?"

My answer: "In marketing, I was taught research and consumer behaviours. I need to find out the needs and wants of my customers and provide them with the best solutions. In this case, my customers are the patients."

Facing an unreal reality

Yea..everything seemed so unreal.

I was still talking to James about my grandma on friday night, about how important it is to take good care about our grandparents.

On Saturday midnight, we received a call at 12.40am that she has passed away.

Hurried over and saw a pale lifeless body on the bed that my grandma sleeps on, eyes to never open again.

Then, there started to be chanting on scriptures, alot of voices making decisions on where to place her..

Shockingly, even people hired to do the wake can tell you they have a brand to keep, and you first need to join as a member in order to hire them. My face expression was totally: "Huh?! Are you kidding me?"

Following, chanting continues, decisions making went on, and doctor came to sign a death certificate and the other "normal procedures" came into place.

Structures and tables were set up in the void deck. I saw people whom i usually see once a year during CNY.

There are also people whom I do not know but somehow have some connections with me came.

The air was a mixture of smells of food and body decomposition, sounds of chatting, chanting, VCR, walking, chewing of peanuts, stories of their childhoods and future aspirations.

Hopefully with all the blessings from different people, my grandma will not be lonely is this road which she will travel to a place with no pain, no sadness, no worries and no sickness.

Suddenly, I really feel older. No longer a child. My uncles and aunties also look much older now. Daddy and mommy too.

Death is something so near you never know, treasure life while you can.

Fading memories and yellowing photos are we can really leave behind.

June camp 2010

SHG annual june camp was held over the past weekend.

There seemed to be alot of new faces especially since i was absent last year due to GIP.

Many people whom I used to see is not there anymore.

I cant help but start to recollect the very first time I joined SHG, the year James and I first join SHG in 2005.

There was alot more enthusiasm and zeal from me in planning games and not letting people sleep at nite.

Totally agree with xl that not letting our very own people planned the games is a waste of talent and money.

Not that the high achievers were not good but we each have our own merits.

Perhaps we need to reconsider what is it that we really want our kids to learn during the 2D1N camp.

We didn't do much this year during the first day and we sorta wasted half a day away.

Time management was certainly lousy as my kids had nearly 2hrs to bathe and they didnt complete all the low elements, which was what we paid the high achievers to do.

Also, weightlifting the kids up and down has definitely contributed to muscle building and my arms are aching like crazy. I wished that my instructor from high achievers could have helped us instead of watching and commenting whether the tyres and touched the log and we need to redo etc.

the farny thing is that one of my fellow volunteer commented that I seemed to be army trained when i was teaching the kids on how they can climb the low wall. LOL!

For the first time, I slept early during camps cos I think i was K.O. by my afternoon "gym-ing". =.=

Nonetheless, I wanna thank the kids from Hades as you kids has been a great bunch and generally quite obedient yet sporty, nonetheless I still need to exercise my role for discipline. I think I have also improved in my tactics to bond with the children and reprimand necessarily.

My hades kids:

Jeremy, the smartest kid that can understand quickly when I am teaching the brain-teasers.

Wei xiang, a kid that has the same name as my ex-student that is very quick with 欠扁问答题.\

Winnie, a very talkative girl who volunteers herself when no other girls wanna do the job.

Si de, a nice boy who is always sabo to be the group leader but is willing to take up any role assigned to him.

Jia Hao, the always smiling boy and makes me feel motivated throughout the camp.

Cindy, the only girl that always sticks to me and respects me as an 2nd i/c.

Jasmine, a fellow RH girl who is quiet and i still dunno her personality.

Hui Ting, a 大小姐 who gave me a headache but was still sporty when asked to climb.

To my Hades volunteers:

Yanchun, my i/c who is ever enthusiastic and led our team really well.

Alvin, the joker of the team who can easily keep us entertained.

Xinyi, a future nbs junior who is quite vocal.

Overall, I'm glad I stayed with Hades and perhaps we can meet up again.

Reached Singapore yesterday. Korea has been great, thanks to my uni friends (stef, doris and liwen) for being part of my 2 weeks worth of grad trip memories. Came back with an empty wallet but a loaded camera. There are too many things that have happened, so many places that we have visited, so much food that we have eaten. I dont even know where to begin blogging and i'm currently sieving through more than 1000 photos and performing q/c. I'll let the photos do the talking in my future posts.

Most importantly, after 2 weeks of only 吃喝玩乐, I need to look for a job. I have remained as second lower for my honours, 3.95, which is quite expected since there was no way my prof could send my fyp papers for review and that the exam papers were rather tricky. Nonetheless, I am satisfied as this is the best semester gpa that i have gotten in nbs. I'm also proud to say that my lowest grade is a B and my highest grade is an A, so that shows that I'm quite alright in all my subjects. Not cream of the crop but not lousy in any. Hopefully, with this economy class ticket, I can get a job with reasonable pay and I'll prove my value to soar to greater heights. I will be in the elite class someday. =)

To all my uni friends, whether we have a job or not, 接下来的路会是一段漫长，辛苦，但难忘的旅程。不管将来在商场上是敌是友，我们一起努力吧~

pre-grad trip - 零零碎碎的记忆

My university education has come to an end after 3 years.

Its like not long ago I was still deciding whether I should go NBS.

It is a decision that I have never regret. Not that my results were fantastic but I have made alot of wonderful friends.

Life is like green tea latte. you never know how it will turn out.

bitter and sweet, mix and find your best flavour.

GIP VIETNAM

I went for my first beerfest and tried the most number of beers in my life.

I realized oyster shots can be yummy.

I did a project that I am proud of cos I knew nothing and did my own analysis.

I ate 蛇鼠一锅 with duck foetus that remains the most disturbing fact about me to many of my friends.

I also tried crocodile meat and alot other interesting food.

I had my first motorbike accident and a knee sprain.

I walked home across 2 districts alone at 3 am.

I traveled to almost all popular places in the middle and south of vietnam.

I went backpacking alone and enjoyed my freedom.

zena, amanda, norman, kelvin, wilson, jit hong, hoon kiat, jia hann; the house mates whom i lived together for 6 months.

HALL DAYS

I stayed in hall 10 with my dear roomie who was totally understanding.

my one and only clique in uni, sotongs, are hall 10 fellows, and we always have a visitor from hall 1.

i miss those days that i'll stroll with shell to veron's hall.

i remembered that we watched 不能说的秘密 together when veron was preparing for a test.

i also miss those times when i'll cook random stuff made up of my own recipe.

橄榄菜!! is something that bee dislike and we will always tease her.

I will usually disturb jiehui at midnight to eat pao mian.

we went to bee's house to swim and ate sushi on some random occasion.

and my beloved sotongs never forget my birthday *muacks

I played othello for hall.

I had a 5 days 4 nights othello camp that was totally exhausting.

When we knew that we could not enter the finals, we played till morning.

Ryan is the best othello teacher i ever had.

we should all go eat zhi-char again someday.

STUDIES

I used to be more quiet during classes.

I became more vocal towards the end but I am still not that comfortable with presentations.

I have lovely group mates that will support me when i need help.

I became more exam smart and was better at dealing with open book papers.

My exam notes were more succinct and useful.

I am no longer inseparable from maths and sciences.

but my best grades are from science electives so maybe this explains something.

I studied 3 more languages - Korean, Vietnamese, Japanese.

Reports of dunno how many thousand words no longer scares me.

猜到了吧，没错，是《艋舺》。年度最佳电影，至少我这么认为。

已经很久没有一部戏让我看了如此五味杂陈，即使过了数小时，那份震撼和感动还在我胸口激荡着，溢出来的难过和对导演及演员的钦佩仍堆在桌子的角落。不是一个喊打喊杀的黑道电影，每一个角色都很鲜明而演员也演得很传神。每一个动作，画面和故事情节都很细腻，是有原因的，带感情的。没有谁是好人，谁是坏人。只要自己认为是对的，就奋不顾身去做。曾经海誓山盟结拜作兄弟，曾经在巷子街头为了义气和朋友和别人殴斗，曾经在山上练武修行并相信枪械是下等人的武器，曾经在庙口和老大啃鸡腿。不是年少无知，是一切其实可以很简单。因为只有五根手指才能有一个拳头。但最后，当五根手指不想合作的时候，你就只有一根残废的手，什么也没得到，什么也握不牢。

如果艋舺是小船，那就是一艘有血有泪，没有回头了的小船。

i was talking to cheeyun the other day.

the day she actually flagged for a mrt train. haha.

was saying about how we cannot choose our family members.

so its impt have a good spouse cos he/she is the only family member that we can select.

to me..being with family members is supposed to be natural and comfortable.

they are the ones who have seen you grown up and supp to understand you.

the one whom you have no fear or worries in saying anything.

the ones who are supposed to be most understanding and knows your character.

suppose to be easier isnt it?

just say what is on my mind and what i deem as right?

but note that i used supposed cos the fact is that it isn't.

cos for the past two days that i am with my sister..

..we can quarrel in less than 5 lines.

other than the times that i was trying to be a clown in the youth room.

its hard.

i think its more about sensitivity issues.

the fact is that we haven't really spent time with each other.

we dunno how to behave near each other.

or we are so used the way we are with our friends we dun see eye to eye.

Anh cong nguyen came to Singapore on Friday.

He is a very nice motorbike rider that i met in Vietnam.

I didn't have time to meet him cos its the exam period.

He met Jiahann ystd and told him he is eager to meet me.

caught me by surprise.

then he just called to say he misses me and wants to see me.

haha. i didn't know i land him such a deep impression.

This makes me happie though.

Deadline

I think Singaporean students know how to work within deadline.

It is evident from how we always manage to churn out our report one day before the submission date.

I am clearly one of the trained ones.

I gave myself one day to recover from high fever, headache, sore throat, cough, muscle ache, joints ache, and block nose.

Miraculously, I have recovered 90% with random food like wasabi, herbal tea, garlic, lozenges and mulberry juice + 16 hours of sleep.

16 hours is like worth 3-4 days of sleep lor.

good job.

now i just want my voice to come back~

wanted to do my 215 assignment but my sister force earth day on me so cant turn on the lights =.=

thought 1:

i think i am really a devil tutor.

i can be really nice and committed.

though money is a reason for teaching 3 tutees, i truly enjoy teaching.

the only thing is i dowan it as a career.

for the first time, i download videos, online notes etc to teach.

i try all sorts of creative teaching and try to find the most suitable model for each student.

in shg, i'm better at teaching academically weaker students now.

i seriously think my student fears me.

haha, but if it helps to keep him alert and focus, i dun mind.

his attention span was also forced to be extended.

alot of people say i look damn fierce. i agree.

this student of mine lacks attention and the motivation to think.

there is no one to force him to think.

so i decided that it will be my role then.

i actually want him to do some logical processing.

even in english.

today, he was asked to chant:

"singular is one, plural is many" & "singular got s, plural don't have"

then using the information, he was asked to do qns on is, are, was, were, has, have, do, does and the verbs.

he will need to chant as punishment too if he get a qns wrong.

went for a career talk by takeda yesterday.

it re-ignited my interest in the healthcare industry.

but they are hiring very little people but i'll try my luck anyway.

think i'm really interested to work abroad, esp in japan.

taking jap this sem really makes me want to know more about the place and culture.

i want a career that allows me to see the world.

definitely not desk bound.

definitely not 9 to 5 with routine jobs.

i'm looking at strategic planning and operations other than marketing.

i want to fly, hope mommy will not break my wings of hope.

cuiying reminded me that i can try improving my job as i gain more experience.

cos first job is not the last job.

FYP 感言

如果家家有本难念的经，那么个个 FYP 都有它的特色。

昨天原以为会顺利成交我的报告，但往往事与愿违。时间到了我们依然在 IT LAB 2 埋头苦干，直至我们必须向教授编了一个白色的谎言。本想交待打印机故障了事，但为减低良心所受到的谴责以及bad karma 的堆积，我们只好谎报我们正着打印中。结果呢，人算还真的不如天算，we really faced a printer breakdown，还真的是哭笑不得。或许我们真有未卜先知的能力也说不定。接踵而来的是，photocopying auntie 不告而别，教授也不知所终。当他终于出现的时候，final submission 还是变成了 final draft. 这个烫手山芋怎么这么难仍阿，我原有的计划都被打乱了。超级无敌 sianz

至少，还是需要等 feedback 的，所以最难熬的部分毕竟是结束了。=) 谢天谢地，这段披星戴月，早出晚归的非人生活就快告一段落了，足以令人感激零涕呀~

犹豫许久还是决定在这里分享我对 FYP 的看法和感慨。若不能感同身受，也能聆听。

FYP 后遗症：

由于压力庞大，睡眠不足，在加上饮食不均衡，我这段时间一直高烧不退，体温此起彼落，让我烦不胜烦。还有头痛，喉咙痛，微咳，伤风鼻塞，ulcer 当陪衬品，让人苦不堪言。骨头仿佛都快散落一地，把全身衔接起来的竟是连我也被自己吓着的意志力。虽然妈妈说做人要谦虚，我还是忍不住佩服起自己来。heh

FYP 大发现：

事实证明，考试成绩真的不是一切，过去不管多辉煌的历史终究会化为废水，一切还是必须从零开始。还有，追求的是学习和成长的过程而非结果的这种话是圣人说的，只供参考和娱乐。凡夫俗子如我，向往和期盼的是最后的尖头 A，也是莘莘学子努力为 FYP 奋斗的动力。除此之外，我还发现最能依赖并给予信任的人竟然是我自己。而且，我仿佛失去了责备和破口大骂的脾气，仅存的是容易满足的一颗心。

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:

这一段是我不能写在报告里头的，却是我衷心的话。

FYP 队友 W：

我想，在多数人面前，你早已经被我抱怨得不成人形了。你绝对不是 free rider，但你所乘上的报告总是让我感到惊心动魄。 research 是你的专长但已经大三的你，怎么会连 report 都不会写呢？你真的不懂 report format 吗？我很纳闷。很感激你对google news 的热爱，否则我是无法为我们的 FYP 提出如此有意义的research 方向。一个如此厚重的 project 让三个做是为了让短暂的时间有了三倍的增值，可惜你总把比时间更珍贵的是白白耗走。而且让我好奇的是，当你负责的部分需要我们一改再改，你不会感到羞愧难当的吗？还有，报告中没有属于你个人的部分，你的自尊不会受创吗？本以为交待的简单 formatting 可以顺利通过，你却依然超出我的想象，错误百出。就连 conclusion 你也想草草了结，而你的借口竟是依照着我所说的写。除了难掩的失望，我早已无言。

FYP 队友 Y：

说真的，对你有着无比的感激。只是和我一样早出晚归的你，怎么需要用如此冗长的时间来完成一个部分呢？和 W 相反，不喜欢做 research 和 referencing 的你, 也一度让我感到很头痛。幸好最后的 discussion 和英文的部分由你撑着，否则我们真的要完蛋了。你的付出我看见了，也感受到了。等 FYP 正式结束之后，你也好好休息吧，然后我带你去吃很好吃的卤鸭面!

霸王车司机 K:

老兄，我想这些日子以来，除了我和我的组员之外，最辛苦的就数你了，哈哈。你比我们更拼命耶，一发现 Y 十一点还在学校，二话不说就把老爸的私家车给驾出来了。明明就很忙，也会独自留在学校陪我们至深夜，就为了让 Y能早一点回家休息。嘿嘿，我不只是搭顺风车而以哦，我有帮你说好话的，你要好好加油啦，她一定会很感动的。明眼人都知道是怎么一回事。=D

trying my best to do Imc now cos due tmr but i dun seem to be able to concentrate.

I attribute it to :

- lethargic; lack of sleep cos i have been sleeping 3 hrs per day for the past week =(

- excessive worries on fyp which is due 2 days later, i got no face to see my prof T.T

- noisy reading room with everybody talking at the top of their voice

- lack of interest in the project and lack of good ideas

- i actually hate to do work alone and i have been doing that for way too long

A convo with my mom

As i have been spending 15 hours outside home daily due to fyp and other assignments, so i haven been really talking to my mom. This morning, i was quite happy that i am still very alert though i only slept 3 hrs, plus i helped my fyp team mates yesterday. yc oso say she is amazed at my ability to structure arguments.

so i said: mom, i feel quite smart leh. heh

mom: (in utter disbelief) u know ar, we should always be humble and we should not praised ourselves even our children. I have NEVER say my kids are smart. We can only say other people's children are smart..

me: (pricked) yes, i know. i have been living with you for more than20 years. I know how u treat your kids..

silently, i told myself, i must rmb never to self praised again..and i WILL remember to commend my children.

movie in recess week

out of total randomness, the movie trios went to gv marina yst.

its our first non-chinese movie!!

we chose and watched dear john out of elimination..

well, the feeling of the show was mixed after it ended.

we each hab wad we like and dislike bout the show.

yy like it overall, cy find it long, i find it emotionless but i enjoyed certain ways in potraying the story.

there is an element of beauty somewhere.

personally, i cant feel anything most of the time.

really 见仁见智. cos diff expectations.

but undoubtedly, the soundtrack is good.

in my opinion, a movie must be able to 堆砌情感.

so when it hits the climax, 决堤的压抑感觉能排山倒海而下.

i look for 感动 during a movie but i cant really find it.

i only felt something when the father is dying.

and mebbe the horse barn.

those tears were real.

mebbe that's why i was puzzled when they met again and the gal was screaming b'cos she had to =.=

the starting is draggy, the middle is nice, the ending is orh, liddat lor.

expect some twists and turns if u are goingto watch the show.

my favourite character in the show is the dad.

i sense his fear, his anticipation and his hopes.

俊男美女 is just not sufficient for me.

i seriously wish i have a spare brain just like how i can have a spare battery.

i wish i can massage my brain. its aching badly.

initially i love my slides.

i always lost my confidence in the midgame.

then my othello instructor said he also qt worried for me.

but in the end i won cos i planted a poison to my advantage.

a winning game can end up losing if i am not confident.

SHG. nah..haven start yet..i'm in NTU reading room lor~

seriously feel like some 白斩鸡 can.

in other to make the meat more smooth and tender, chefs will put the chicken into hot then cold water then repeat a couple of times.

for me..one moment i'm in the hot sun..the other i'm in a feaking aircon room.

went to collect my passport this morning and was late for my appointment.

but he let me thru aniwae.

he refers to the cute guy (i assume working part time) who was helping people get their queue tickets from the machine.

mebbe tt's why the queue is longer at his machine. lol

ica has a weird numbering system and when a number is called, not all the electronic boards will signal.

but they have this missing queue numbers on a TV to help people to go available counters immediately should they missed their numbers.

number of people there on a saturday is freaky.

no wonder the net says strictly appointment only.

cos many people who cant read or write will go saturday cos its a non working dae.

but sooo happie..next time got overseas 73 outing i got my passport ready lo!

saw XM at bouna vista MRT.

the thing is, we talk!! my god.

we haven talk to each other since dunno how long..12 years?!

XM is my primary sch classmate and i sort of envy her as every teachers' pet.

we hardly spoke but she wrote in my autograph book that she thinks i'm a knowledgeable swan.

cos i mentioned once in class that i feel like a 井底之蛙 .. she is so sweet.

even when we always see each other on on 961 cos she studies at NJC,

we didnt even nod or say hi.

so i was surprised when i waved at her at said hi todae.

wow. the feeling is soo...i dunno how to explain.

like an old fren.. someone whom i have known a loong time but nv spoken a word.

i think i caught her by surprise too~

i didnt even rmb her voice is so low. =)

she tot i'm at NUS cos she nv seen me in NTU.

she is doing IA now at biopolis.

then i picked up a dollar coin on the bus.

recruitment talks

Actually, i tend to think that recruitment talks are rubbish and for show esp for those really big and popular MNCs. Everyone is trying to get in and they based their judgements on CCAs and GPA. Good thing is meritocracy is the fairest method and perfomance & results are still used for evaluation when we start working. Bad thing is I am never interested in getting any position in the CCAs and i am rather happy being an average volunteer. Not OCIP or wadeva s.h.i.t. My GPA is never good to begin with either.

But well, anyway, I'm in need of a job/boss/work and i yearn for a nice, fulfilling career. Thus, I drop my names in places which I think i might/hope to stand a chance and I participate in these talks.

career fair, I am interested in RedWoods and DFS galleria. But i do not mind TTSH.

yesterday, went for a small SME talk, perform media. Actually they have been around for qt some time just that they are new in asia and wish to develop in this region. Franky speaking, i got a thing for asia. i love everything about asia. I'll rather go to every other Asian country than the euro continent. I also believe that digital media is the next big thing. Cy feels that it is a threat to newspaper. everything is good, including sales manager job on advertising and promotions, friendly colleagues, rapidly expanding means got alot of opportunity and prospects to play or even climb up the corporate ladder. It is almost perfect except i'm nuts for sports. completely. I know nothing and imagine me advertising for a cricket event or latest match for chelsea..wahpiang, i need to grow some love leh.

den todae, i realise my love for retail. Uniqlo. go japan to sell clothes and learn before stepping up to become a store manager or country manager or region manager. more on operations but after some time also got chance to go hq to practise marketing etc. goos thing is experience is valued over grades. I work Daiso + sell uniforms + tour guide for jap students = sell clothes to jap ppl? lol. 2nd interview in tokyo. training, jap language, rental, tpt, visa all supported. decent pay. but mama asked why go so far to be store keeper. err..dunno leh..diff experience mah.. i sensed excitement in my blood, i am thrilled to go abroad. i can imagine myself doing this. my god. my only concerns are my 3 tutees and my shg kid.

just an update

got someone complain i never update..yup, so here's where i am..

i realize i got a tendency to blog when i'm in the reading room..cos its just too freaking cold to think properly about fyp..

grad trip is 80% settled. left the exact itineraries in Japan. (to be done my myself)

current confirmed attendance - doris, step, april, me!! yay!!!

I've found accommodation and places to travel.

left only with transport clarification.

though its my first time going Nihon, we will not be going popular places like tokyo, osaka or hokkaido. TT.TT

In order to save cost, we will be ferrying to fukuoka prefecture from busan (korea).

it will definitely be an unique experience for poor students like us.

as long as its not the 货仓, i'm ok lor~ lol

check online, fukuoka will be a nice place to get around. =)

many people hab asked me bout my korea package.

its 8 days in korea. going places like jeju, mount sorak, neverland, chelsea factory, neverland, lotte world, fruit picking, dong dae mun, spa, shopping etc.

travelling by korean air,staying at 5 star hotels, admissions and most meals paid for..its 1538 sing dollar inclusive of 270 air tax and an additional 65 usd tour guide fee. additional 200 sing for extension of return flight date. hopefully we get a cute korean tour guide. that will really be a bonus~~ ^^

its damn worthwhile because a return air tix with korean air is oredi 3k plus. so other cost taken care off is great. so free and easy was scrapped off from korea schedule.

and that i know abit of korean and jap..so can test it out. will be mugging heavily my languages after i finish my final exam in NTU~ hahahaha

ok, something random..

i got two blisters on the soles of my feet. TT.TT

and i have to step on them like the whole time i'm standing, walking..

i wore heels for 2 consecutive days and i was chasing a bus on the first day when i was going home.

so i dunno how thye got scratched or wad not.

first time my fav pair of heels giving me problem after 3 years.

muz be the wear and tear..should have put on feet wax yst..sighs

yesterday it was aching qt badly, especially after i wore it for like 13 hours.

it went from pain, to numb, to really painful..to i dunno whether they are my feet anymore..

so much for feeling more empowerment when i'm wearing heels..

i finally understand what is：美是要付出代价的..my god

then the whole time, muppet's voice was ringing at my ears, machiam like a voice over:

夜深人静，静静地听张学友的 “他来听我的演唱会”。

其实，我从来不是一个想太多的人。

只是，当我一个人在家，只有 88.3 的时候，我就会反省。

然后，手指和键盘就敲敲打打地，聆听和倾诉。

没有太多的杂音，心里的话就听得比较清楚。

多给一些不给一些。要的不多给的不多。

其实，我并不是很确定自己是否清楚要的是什么。

我的真心是什么，在那里，有什么期待和盼望。

像是在辽阔能够的草原，没有方向奔驰的山羊座。

没有方向不是不快乐，而是想要的是，很多，更多。

fyp 像是在跳舞，像是有进展，又像是原地踏步。

我需要一个理智的教授，不是被经验和原有想法束缚的牛。

退一步，不一定海阔天空，却不会短视。

请慢慢地听我的想法，然后分析再加以判断。

断章取义后加以批评是没有建设性的。

虽然到最后你表扬了我，给予我部分肯定，却并不嫩改变什么。

now, need to do fyp research, prepare stuff to find jobs, take passport fotos and renew passport, confirm plans for grad trip, look through next week's schedule and prepare for sch work, plus confirm time for tution and add in some elements of fun.

just when i tot i'm getting better, my body went down again.

accumulated from lack of sleep and insomnia.

turned down my tuition todae cos got terrible headache and dere goes my 50 dollars~ TT.TT

slept at 1 plus after returning from zhipeng's and jane's wedding and woke up at 5 plus to rehearse for presentation todae.

seeing 2 of my frenz so xinfu and blissful makes me really happy and gandong too!!

may mr and mrs chua become more loving as time passes and they will support each other down the road of life from now on.. =D

he didnt give any direct comments but i hab to admit i overlook some issues that a gal point out in class.

plus a wrong use of terminology. =.=

headache, cough, running nose, block ears. haiz

somehow red angels are not as close anymore.

same sentiments as xl.

more are becoming alumni and building extended red angels family.

with lesser ppl, losing familiarity and "cozy-ness".

a brief about what happened:

friday nite went to chalet then realized there is only 4 of us living in a 4 rooms bungalow.

watched 2 movies and sat through another one while playing bridge and blasting music on xl's PC.

i realised i dun really appreciate chick flicks, like 27 dresses.

actions packed films that has a story, some meanings, sincere actors like Ip Man is good.

but my fav of the movie marathon is "chaser".

the sarcastic, violent korean movie was totally engaging. though provoking!!

great plot. intriguing. black humor. cynicism. damn neat.

i was laughing inside and sneering. hahahahaha

M18 movie with some disturbing scenes.

watch it if you like this sort of show.

xl wonders why i actually liked the show cos i dun think she finds it nice.

well..if ur hands are over ur eyes most of the time, how engaging can a peek-a-boo be?

so personal preference lo.

we also played pictionary.

再没多久我就快毕业了。

我开始为 FYP 而忙碌。

我过了第一个没有没有在 xl 家倒数的圣诞节。

也代表我第一次体会了和大伙儿一起在地铁上互相道贺的兴奋。

73 过了第一个 "不眠不休" 的跨年活动。

我头一次在一个月里看了那么多电影。

some ppl juz like pretty things. and want to hab a nice garden. so they will spent lots of time arranging and buying deco.

some ppl prefer virtual world and plants that live forever and dun like to play regularly.

these ppl either have no crops or quit playing farmville.

some ppl are competitve. They juz like to level up and be rank above the rest.

some ppl like money. they juz want to have as much coins as possible.

some ppl dunno why they play. they juz help their frenz play by being their neighbours or sending stuff.

i am another kind. i like to score, win,

and be rewarded.

currently, I am watching TV like nobody business.

u name it, i watch it.

any type or style or language.

its an incredible metal box of knowledge.

today, i pester cheeyun to watch this documentary and she asked me to find this letter by einstein:

Our time is rich in inventive minds, the inventions of which could facilitate our lives considerably. We are crossing the seas by power and utilize power also in order to relieve humanity from all tiring muscular work. We have learned to fly and we are able to send messages and news without any difficulty over the entire world through electric waves. Finally , its 2010. happy new year everyone!!

Spending new yr eve and countdown with 73 has been great!

supposed to meet at 1.30 pm but most were late, including myself =")

spent 2 hrs of board gaming at mnd cafe.

seriously feel that mind cafe should buy more new games.

and that board game creators should come up with more creative games.

played pink elephant and realised xcube is really good at guessing.

muppet's 玛丽莲梦露 is really farny~ haha

played you are pulling my leg and realised we all prefer telling the truth.

and that guys are more daring in gambling.

lq nearly lost all his chips and gary became the richest.

veron was the first to win the game. ^^

also played imaginee and by coincidence,

ah jiao always got qns on food and kitchen items.

veron always got weird qns like computer and body parts.

muppet always got the fashion qns like gold, jewel crown and heels.

liqian tend to be on tv and he wanted to be on american idol.

lots of giggling but mood was not high.

cos many hard core ppl did not turn up.

ningfei was still thinking at home and not picking up calls.

james was kidnapped by aliens and his father didnt even know.

cheeyun only want to appear at nite.

how i wished the morning ppl cld come cos the nite was really great!

nearly all the guys came. nf, wq, lq, barney, james.

we played this cheena strategy game that got all of us addicted.

thanks to weiquan we hab a more complex but fun polar bear.

normal ppl play munchinks and citadel.

our LEP class ppl prefer 三国杀!

as we become experts in the game the game became longer.

its a pity i didnt get to see how i 壮烈牺牲~~

cos i was having a bad stomach.

then some people are fated to be certain characters.

i am usually the loyal one.

i can drop and pick a new card and still be 忠臣.

*faints!

let's play during new year again.

i also learnt mahjong. but not that addictive.

though we complain that we are all aging but most of us didnt slp at all.

muppet's mommy is the most amazing.

she can still read iweekly in the middle of the nite! lol.

ate breakfast and gossip.

actuualy the meal didnt wake us up.

but when we start to gossip, heh heh heh

we are all W-I-D-E-L-Y awake!!

then i slept thru the entire afternoon.

黑白画映。返璞归真。发人深省。

没有别的形容词能更贴切的形容这部戏。

人各有志，凡事不能强求。

有喜欢搞大制作的电影人，还有的喜欢故能玄虚，加一些喜欢卖弄财富用最高科技的。

没对也没有错。

这一次，我看见了一个想说故事的人。简单的故事。

看见了父亲的爱。感受了父亲的无奈。

没有人愿意抗责任，最好是离得越远越好。每个人都想把烫手山芋扔掉。

一次又一次的燃起希望，却又一次又一次的跌入谷底。

已经精疲力尽。

我们所谓的好人，成功的白领衣士，一句法律问题就没事了吗？

转啊转啊转，公文和请愿函应该是想转给耶稣和玉皇上帝。

法律不是用来保护无辜老百姓的吗？

钻牛角尖吧，怕坏人，欺负好人。

没有尽过一丝一毫责任的妈妈为什么会是监护人？

为什么女儿不是跟爸爸姓？

为什么一直逼爸爸找妈妈和她法认老公？

警察这样神通广大，可以找爸爸，就不找妈妈。

这样就交差了是吧~

以为抓到恐怖分子，每个人统统跑出来。

不问青红皂白就说女孩被拐带。

是电视电影看太多，还是植入自己想象和期待的恐怖刺激。

也对啦，电视机是拿来消遣的。

意外的车子如果可以买 4D, 打赌跳不跳充分体现了人们缺乏的怜悯之心。

其实妹仔抱着爸爸站在天桥边的时候没有哭。

我想，就算她爸爸决定要跳下去，她也不想和爸爸分开。

这就是对爸爸的依赖，信任，以及了解和体谅。

当她被警察抱走的时候，哭声其实让我真的很感慨。

其里头的一句对白，我很喜欢:

"爸: 海水这样深，你真的看得见我吗? 女: 我一直看, 一直看, 就看见了。"

倘若我们一直看一直看，是否能看透肤浅的外表，虚伪的面具，华丽的衣裳直到后头？

人来最柔软的部分，一颗尘封已久的赤子之心~
